The System Changes When Parents Understand It
The Story Behind the Method
Our Goal
Our goal is to replace uncertainty with understanding by equipping families with the knowledge and confidence to advocate for their child.
When challenges arise, parents are often left navigating unfamiliar systems, complex processes, and difficult decisions. Through knowledge, practical tools, and meaningful guidance, we strive to help families understand their options, navigate the educational process, and move forward with confidence.
We understand that this is your child's life—not just another meeting or report. The decisions made today can shape a child's future, and every child deserves to be seen, understood, and supported.
Our Story
When a child struggles at school, parents are often left feeling unheard, overwhelmed, or alone as schools sometimes shift the responsibility onto the family instead of addressing the child's educational needs. Whether the concerns are behavioral, academic, social, or developmental, many parents are never told that laws, protections, specialized services, and educational supports exist—and that schools are legally obligated to provide them when appropriate.
Understanding the educational system helps parents ask informed questions, recognize available supports, and navigate the process with confidence.
Scire Mater Method was created from lived experience and the belief that every family deserves access to the knowledge, organization, and support needed to advocate for their child.
Our Method
OBSERVE • QUESTION • RESEARCH • ADVOCATE • REPEAT
Inspired by the scientific method, Scire Mater Method follows a framework many parents naturally use while supporting their children. By observing, asking questions, gathering information, advocating, and continually reassessing needs, families can create meaningful change.
Our Symbol
The Scire Mater Method logo reflects the heart of this mission.
The child is intentionally portrayed as a soldier—not because children should have to fight, but because many do. Every day, children demonstrate remarkable strength and resilience while overcoming challenges that often go unseen.
Walking beside the child symbolizes the power of knowledge, guidance, and advocacy—and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to be understood, supported, and reach their full potential.
Our Approach
Every family's journey is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. My role isn't to tell parents what decisions to make—it's to help them understand their options, navigate available resources, and determine the next steps that best support
their child.
Together, we'll organize information, review records, identify strengths and needs, explore appropriate supports, and develop practical strategies tailored to your child.
Our Name
The name Scire Mater (pronounced SYE-er MAY-ter) reflects two ideas at the heart of this work: knowledge and motherhood. "Scire" is derived from the Latin word meaning "to know," while "Mater" means "mother." Together, they represent the belief that informed parents are powerful advocates.
