Inspired by the scientific method, Scire Mater Method follows a framework many parents naturally use while supporting their children. By observing, asking questions, gathering information, advocating, and continually reassessing needs, families can create meaningful change.
What “Scire Mater” Means
The name Scire Mater (pronounced SYE-er MAY-ter) reflects two ideas at the heart of this work: knowledge and motherhood. "Scire" is derived from the Latin word meaning "to know," while "Mater" means "mother." Together, they represent the belief that informed parents are powerful advocates. Although the name honors the important role of mothers, Scire Mater Method is dedicated to supporting all parents, guardians, caregivers, and families advocating for a child's educational success.

Every family is unique, so there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. I believe effective advocacy starts with collaboration, curiosity, and listening.

The Story Behind the Method
When a child struggles at school, parents can feel unheard, overwhelmed, or unsure where to turn. Many don’t realize that laws, protections, specialized services, and educational supports may be available—and that schools have obligations to provide them when appropriate.
